An Interview with Fit Kitchen’s New Head Chef: Mike

Fontline Consulting2025-03-05T20:56:11+00:00

We’re thrilled to introduce our new Head Chef, Mike! With 13 years of experience in the culinary industry, including time at well-known restaurants like Cactus Club and Joey, Mike has already made a big positive impact since joining our team. Have you tried the new Fuego Fajita Bowl, Shawarmageddon, or Glow Up Greens? All his amazing creations! And there’s lots more on the way..

We sat down with Mike to learn more about his journey, inspirations, and favourite kitchen secrets.

When did you start cooking, and what inspired you to become a chef?

I’ve been in the industry for around 13 years, I honestly never thought growing up that this path would be for me, but fortunately I was able to work with some great chefs at great restaurants at a young age and really found a passion for working with food.

What’s your favorite part about being a chef?

What really kept me wanted to further a career in culinary was the people and the atmosphere, there’s really nothing else like the thrill of a busy service or grinding out a massive prep day. After experiencing that for so long, every other job just seems boring.

What’s your all-time favorite meal?

That is a super tough question as I feel like my answer could change every day. I would definitely say that Italian and Mediterranean food is the go-to in my house.

Why did you choose to join the Fit Kitchen team?

I choose Fit Kitchen as I saw an opportunity to combine my career with things I love doing outside of work, whether that’s going to the gym, playing sports, or just staying active.

What’s your favorite Fit Kitchen meal?

Since joining the team, I’ve been loving the Mac & Gainz – especially with the new sauce!

What are your favorite hobbies? (Besides cooking, lol!)

When I’m not in the kitchen I’m either hanging out with my family, playing or watching football, or doing anything else outside.

What’s your best cooking secret?

Balance your flavors, add small amounts of citrus and heat to every dish.

We couldn’t be more excited to have Mike leading our kitchen! Keep an eye out for more of his incredible creations hitting the menu soon!
